Colin McCullough // Senior Portraits
I can't tell you how many times I've heard "he doesn't really like taking pictures". At this point I've heard it so much that I kind of chuckle because I know how it is going to go. Whether it be a Groom or a guy who is only getting his senior portraits done because his parents say so, it almost always goes the same way. We show up, he'll realize I'm not a weirdo, we make a simple connection as dudes and we get great shots. This is Colin's story. I think he'd tell a similar experience and as soon as he realized I'm just a regular guy that takes rad photos, things snowballed in a great way!
He showed up with his dog, a red-boned coon hunting dog named after "Where the Red Fern Grows", which happens to be my favorite book. After getting some great shots of them both Colin and I headed off around the park and I got to know him a little bit. I'll be honest, I've never met a more patriotic 17 year old in my life. He brought his American Flag along with a tee shirt of his next school, The University of Alabama. He loves to hunt, fish and dream about being a member of the Crimson Tide.
I love taking senior portraits that tell the story of the person. I loved shooting with the American Flag because I feel like it embodies Colin to a tee. Colin has a great head on his shoulders and I truly enjoyed the time I spent with him shooting. I hope he has an amazing senior year at Mountain Vista High School and an even better experience at Alabama.
