Charleen + Chris // Lake Dillon + Ice Castles Engagement
I don't know if I ever really had thought about fate before I met Charleen and Chris... and their dog, Bentley. What made me think about it was actually how we all met. I was shooting another couple's wedding, Clare and Spencer, last fall in Telluride and they wanted a shot of them in the gondola ride. I had to hang back one gondola ride to shoot them in the one ahead of me. As I get in, another couple and their dog happen to walk in as well. I was introduced to Charleen, Chris and their 140 LB Chocolate Lab mix, Bentley. They recently got engaged, we chatted the length of the ride, I handed them my card and we went our separate ways. Fast forward a few months and I get an email from Charleen asking about engagement photos in Dillon. Random? or Fate? Fate makes for a better blog post at least, so let's go with that.
For their engagement session, we ended up doing a little hike that overlooks Lake Dillon, which was awesome because I now have a new spot that overlooks the whole area and we got some killer images. It was a great chance for Bentley to get out some energy, and the hike allowed us to get to know each other a bit. After the hike, we headed to the lake itself and then went to the Dillon Ice Castles to finish up. There were a good amount of people in the Ice Castles but we managed to work around that and we ended up with a few awesome photos.
Charleen and Chris are both from North Carolina but now live in Colorado. Colorado seduced another one of its transplant victims with craft beer, killer scenery and endless amounts of things to fall in love with. Their wedding is in Lake Norman, NC next fall and I can't wait to be out there to capture it all!
