There are a few venues in Colorado that photographers drool over. Devil's Thumb Ranch is one of those venues. When I heard Sarah and Don were getting married there I was doing cartwheels on the inside and then I got to know them a bit and I got even more excited. It's one thing to photograph a wedding at Devil's Thumb, but it's another to photograph awesomely beautiful people at Devil's Thumb.
I had never met Sarah or Don before the wedding planning stages but I instantly saw their connection. the way they looked at each other says it all and I couldn't wait to capture their wedding day.
The day arrived and as I drove up to the venue, the weather looked... well, not good. It was raining heavily and dark clouds surrounded the whole mountain. If you look at the photos from the day below, you'd have no clue that weather was much of an issue. I don't normally throw around the word lucky very often but we got lucky with the weather. It stopped raining just in time for the first look and it stayed perfect until everyone headed inside for the reception.
Just like the weather, the rest of the night went perfectly. Great words were said of the couple, the food was wonderful and there was plenty of dancing and good vibes. I am very fortunate to have been a part of these two very special people's wedding day. I am so glad I get to consider Sarah and Don friends after capturing such a memorable time in their lives.
