Sometimes you don't need an excuse like a wedding or engagement to do a photoshoot. Sometimes all you need are some beautiful people, a fun idea, and some well, fun. I have a lot of beautiful and fun friends but Tamsen and Alyssa might just take the cake... or cotton candy and popcorn on this occasion.Read More
It's a pretty unique thing when your best friend meets someone and falls in love, then that person becomes one of your best friends too. I usually start out with a blog by mentioning that the couple I'm writing about is a friend, but Chuck and Eliza are way more than friends... they're my family. Not by blood but by choice. These two incredible people make my life shine so much brighter, I choose to call them family.Read More
I love couples that have a vision for their wedding and engagement photos. Diana and Andrew knew exactly what they wanted for their engagement session. They wanted their engagement photos to reflect their elegant wedding next year at the Grand Hyatt in October, so that is exactly what we did! Also, who doesn't like to get all dress up downtown to class the place up a bit?
If these two have this kind of energy with each other and elegance to their photos on their engagement session, I can't wait to see how their wedding shapes up!Read More

I don't know if I ever really had thought about fate before I met Charleen and Chris... and their dog, Bentley. What made me think about it was actually how we all met. I was shooting another couple's wedding, Clare and Spencer, last fall in Telluride and they wanted a shot of them in the gondola ride. I had to hang back one gondola ride to shoot them in the one ahead of me. As I get in, another couple and their dog happen to walk in as well. I was introduced to Charleen, Chris and their 140 LB Chocolate Lab mix, Bentley. They recently got engaged, we chatted the length of the ride, I handed them my card and we went our separate ways. Fast forward a few months and I get an email from Charleen asking about engagement photos in Dillon. Random? or Fate? Fate makes for a better blog post at least, so let's go with that.Read More
I'll be honest, I haven't done a ton of blogs about newborn shoots or families. The further along in my career I get, the more opportunities for newborn and family sessions I now have and I really want to start sharing those sessions with everyone.
This session is a perfect one to start off with. Katie and Jamison have become really good friends of mine over the years and they have a little guy Cooper that I think is the bee's knees. This kid is always smiling and when he gets around my son, these two kids are a giggle-fest. they are just a fun family... they love baseball, they are always having fun and smiling, which obviously makes my job pretty easy.Read More
Colorado is pretty much the best place ever. At least for taking pictures of awesome people. Just 30-45 minutes away from Denver, you feel like you're in a completely different state. Evergreen, CO is right in Denver's backyard and it was the perfect place for Katelyn and Landon's engagement session.
The light was awesome all day long and it was pretty warm for Evergreen in the winter. I am so excited for their wedding this next summer! Check out their sun-drenched engagement session!Read More
When you meet people through an online platform, instead of a referral, you really don't know what to expect. This was the case for Fernanda, Nathan and myself. I had never met them before, nor had they known anyone that I knew. Yet here we were drinking coffee on a Sunday, in Union Station (where he proposed) downtown. Outside, it was snowing. I don't just mean the fluffy, magical, snowglobe type of snow. I mean borderline whiteout, smack you in the face kind of snow. The night before I reached out to Fernanda and asked if this is what she still wanted to do and she said: "of course!" Side note... I love adventures. Even if it is a place I've shot a bunch, I love shooting in weird or challenging conditions simply for the fact that it becomes unique. After drinking our coffee and chatting for a bit, we headed outside in the snow for their engagement session.Read More
I was recently contacted by a company called Groovy Guy Gifts to review their product line. They even told me I could pick one gift and have it personalized for my review. Of course, I thought it'd be awesome to do so I went to their website (www.groovyguygifts.com) to check everything out.Read More
I first met Leanne back at one of my first weddings I had shot for my friends Matt and Nikki back in 2013. She was a bridesmaid at their wedding but we hadn't seen each other since then. The only place that our paths were to cross was probably at one of my baseball games, except she wouldn't have come to see me. Her now fiance, Jason, plays on the Denver Browns baseball team. I play for the Redhawks and the Browns are our biggest rivals in the league. They're good and so is Jason. They win the league pretty much every year... eeeeeexcept this year when we edged the Browns in the championship game 2-0. I wouldn't be a competitor if I didn't mention that here, but I'm sure Jason and any other Browns players and fans would expect that from me haha. I had never really met him outside of the ball field and the only time I ever got to chat with him is when he got on first... which is a lot. During this last championship game, Jason had mentioned that he had gotten engaged and I told him we should chat! Funny thing is, Leanne wrote me an email asking about photography and the wheels started to turn.Read More
Sometimes you just get lucky. I felt lucky to have shot Angel and AJ's wedding this October. Their wedding inquiry popped up in my inbox by way of referral from another photographer friend (thanks, Jo) because she was already shooting on that date. Angel almost immediately booked me as their photographer and after a couple months of waiting, their day was upon us.Read More
Sam and I go way back to freshman year of High School at TJ. We played football and baseball together and graduated in the same class in '06 and even still play on the same Redhawks baseball team. As you grow older and keep friends from high school, you simply wish a positive and good life for those friends. You hope they get into a great career and earn a good living, but most of all, you hope they find someone perfect to share this life with.Read More
